As the son of a builder, M. David Graves honed his building skills at the age of 15 supervising building crews. After acquiring his engineering degree, David went back to his roots in building and construction to form Graves & Associates. This small part-time construction company later became a full-time presence in Monroe's building industry. By the early 1990s, Graves & Associates was well established and it became evident that building companies of the future would need to focus on site development and subdivisions to better ensure success. David teamed with Ravenwyck Development Company, a local development leader. Together, they completed the Ravenwood and Teakwood Estates subdivisions. Under David's guidance, the companies renovated, built, marketed, leased, and managed numerous commercial properties.

Graves & Associates was expanded slightly in 2004 to serve an even larger clientele. David's goal is to remain a small "boutique" office, which can provide more personal and professional services to his customers.
